THE ARK OF WORLD PEACE ®
Original world peace poetry by Donna J. Fennel.
Quilled on this eve of May 1, 2004 ~ A brave new world to explore. Try to guess what the symbolic key to world peace is in this poem.
This immediate desire to quill and instill I sensed, rather than heard ~
Inspiration was born from a woeful song invitation of one lone bird.
Yet seemingly, during this ungodly hour, I was motivated to write ~
With might, hoping this random spill of quill would end our plight.
Yea, this fear festering in the hearts of men will come to pass ~
Making room for an awakening world now preordained to last.
When mankind is no longer wary and weakened from his war ~
And racism, fostering a fateful cataclysm ‘pon his safest shore.
Comes sunrise soon, and waning moon when he is one with self ~
And when solemn sun has shone, he will then descend from throne
Of arrogant power, for this haunting hour becomes, above all else ~
His own to welcome humanity, as missed loved ones coming home.
Although mankind’s perceptive mind tends to vehemently object ~
A planetary peace potential, he leans toward being circumspect.
Yet it comes as no surprise, during brink of morn he will realize ~
And recognize gleaming key that lay in his palm, to make all calm.
Nebulous, negative preconceptions of his race humanity will face ~
For this key unlocks mysteries to a place that time could ne’er erase.
When woe-worn faces peering through life’s weathered window pane
Will witness God’s gracious gift to man, when key opens this again.
Alas, this secret has remained buried under sands of man’s hourglass ~
Enduring humanity’s tumultuous past, as time was mercilessly cast.
Yet this soul’s single discovery of this key entombed in our history ~
Will, once and for all, reveal the mystery and truth for you and me.
Ah, for now is born his very tool as a vehicle for our Golden Rule ~
For when one is at peace with his soul, his joy will shine through
‘Mongst his brethren as compassion pure and new, long overdue ~
Witness now his brave reaction to form a brotherhood of faction.
For this tiny unit harbors secret leading to our portal of protection ~
Indeed, borne now will be creed of peace and disciples full of pride
Knowing this prideful ride will lead towards good deed with guide ~
Carrying his hungry, hapless hovel of humanity in hopeful direction.
Now endeavor to keep an open mind for surprise that I reveal here ~
For this humble mercenary on quest holds key to ALL that is bless’d
And bestowed to humanity from God; let His promise become clear ~
That if we follow Covenant contained therein, survival we will win!
‘Neath heavens of Cassiopeia, this man comes across a cornucopia ~
Of lore and what is in store for his race, when key unlocks the door
To the truth humanity yearns to explore, yet has elected to ignore.
This enigma exposed ensures that his stigma and shame will be no more.
Yet through murkiest of marsh and mire, this discoverer found desire ~
Enough to quench his firmament of frenzied fire and finally release
This precious key ‘pon his battle-scarred, hungry hovel of humanity ~
So all can rejoice as one voice, for it opens hallowed ark of world peace.
