OUR HUMBLE THANKSGIVING PRAYER®

Our Father, Who Art in Heaven –
As Your thankful children are blissfully gathered ~
Commemorating this blessed Thanksgiving holiday
In assembly, we pray that peace comes our way ~
And while joining hands at our ample table, we say:
Dear Lord, we thank You for these fine blessings ~
And all that Your children are now about to receive
As we bow our heads in unity, while paying homily ~
While our thoughts of Your Divine Love is perceived.
For those not among us, in Your Heaven above ~
And they with whom we share our prayers and love
We thank You Lord, now, for this bountiful banquet ~
While Your adoration tenderly warms us, like a blanket.
May peace flourish while we nourish, feeding the soul ~
And tender hearts, whose abundance makes man whole.
Offering our prayers and cares that languish to console ~
When life, which lay before us, bears its burden of toll.
Ah, these are our blessings unique we speak on this day ~
As well as peace and joy everlasting, for which we pray.
Now we are gathered in Your honor, Heavenly Father ~
While You forgive us, whom we must trust like no other.
Although we do not always recognize Your splendor or love ~
Know that we, amity of family, pay humble homage to You above.
As You reign please us sustain, while Your holy breath whispers,
"Peace be unto you eternal, living as loving brothers and sisters."
Grateful for this feast You serve to share amongst our brethren ~
We are thankful especially for You, our Divine Creator in Heaven.
But before we dine, we pray for one favor more fine, Your Grace ~
Nourish the suffering with Your love, while forgiving the human race.
While chalice of cheer is raised, on this fine day we offer You praise ~
Hoping that New Year, soon to come, will be of serenity for humanity.
While we find ourselves enjoying what You are employing as we dine ~
May You spare Your Divine share best amongst the rest of humankind.
Prayers offered in peace, humbly released, with due honor and respect ~
Knowing that our Heavenly Father is near, who loves, serves and protects.
And while we, as amity of family, celebrate through merriment and mirth ~
Our prayers ahead will be that You spread Your wealth of peace on Earth.
We pray that these favors in your Holy Name be bestowed ~
For which your children will be thankful, as Thee already knows.
