Our prismic, intrinsic visions abound, enduring all year 'round. Donna J. Fennel

Fennel family Christmas tree.

OUR CHRISTMAS DREAMS®
This is one of my personal favorites, which will premiere in upcoming original poetry and essays book, Borne From The Sands of Time scheduled for publication in 2006.  Stay tuned!

Original, comforting poetry by Donna J. Fennel, CIW/SD.
Revised on this 6th day of November, 2005 ~ Especially for you and yours!

Behold, Christmastide has finally arrived, and every hobble and hearth ~
Festooned makes room to beckon our precious family and friends now.
While we indulge in feasts and libations, celebrating in merried mirth ~
Decking now our halls and palls with berried mistletoe and holly boughs.

Steve and I graciously welcome guests stopping by, 'neath forlorn sky ~
Fine folks we have not experienced pleasure of greeting in quite awhile.
Gazing through our frosty bay window, we view the kiss of virgin snow ~
As we bid fondest of Yuletide wishes to our guests with cheeriest of smile.

Now every home and hearth is swept and well-kept, several days before ~
While rooms galore are adorned with greenery, as in golden days of yore.
As blustery winds make their way to your front door, ere crisp and clean ~
They lend their winter ambience towards this picturesque holiday scene.

O, we burrow through our decorations, finding holly with thorny pricks ~
And yew and box with berries small, with which to adorn our candlesticks.
Erstwhile we merrily hang garland from wall to wall, embellishing halls ~
And decorate our noble fir Christmas tree; my, this year it seems very tall!

Neighbors resume their annual cheer, with happy smiles and spirits high ~
Wishing each
glad tidings and a happy new year, for Christmastide is nigh!
Every morn, from now 'til Christmas born, waving greetings to passers-by ~
While our heartfelt Christmas cards are written and mailed, as the hours fly.

My kitchen overflows with baked temptations and scrumptious sensations ~
While hubby Steve savors taste, here and there, of my heavenly creations.
We convene 'round grand piano late every eve, singing our carols dear, and
Each morn, by dawn's early light, my Christmas cd's lend holiday cheer.

Come noon, I am in fullest bloom, wrapping presents with beguiling care ~
Tucking them 'neath tree in livingroom, where love and laughter we share.
Now grows generosity, despite its simplicity, for tis the season that we find ~
A dear Christmas of this kind that we have coddingly conjured in our minds.

Ol' Yuletide customs and traditions are treasured, however simple they be ~
Through which somehow, during sands of time, has honored sanction found
Their way into hearts and souls of family and friends near and dear to me.
O, I would give all to have mom and dad here to enjoy this Christmas glee!

Renditions of "It's a Wonderful Life" and "A Christmas Carol" play again ~
As we toast marshmallows by fireside, savoring anecdotes of fondest friends.
These holiday scenes remain forever in our hearts and Christmas dreams ~
For this house shall become empty of our laughter, love and familial scenes.

O, this is extra special Christmas amity for Fennel family, for after holiday
Steve and I move beyond these frozen ponds, to new home where we will stay.
We celebrate with fervent zeal and cheer, 'mongst family and friends ere dear ~
For comes soon the hour we will not be near, so we should enjoy our brief time here.

When the wassail singer tells her Yuletide tale, while our guests enjoy gifts and ale ~
And make merry, while the sun sets sail towards Christmas morn o'er the hill and dale.
We should sanction our innermost Christmas dreams and desires by golden, gleaming fires ~
And sing glory to God during this holy season, especially Christmas Eve, 'fore we all retire.

During Christmas, while glowing firesides and adorned ambience lend their cozy charm ~
Steal away to savor a romantic constitution with your holiday honey downtown, arm in arm.
Do visit the homeless shelters and the elderly, finding it in your heart to donate your best ~
For now you are welcoming God into your humble Christmas home, as your HOLIEST of guest.

Now, if you have a nickel or two to spare, cast it into the Salvation Army pot without a care ~
For in God's eyes, amount matters NOT; what does is joy of giving and compassion to share!
Alas, sometimes 'tis not a man's chosen lot to become poor or impoverishedly overwrought ~
Remember, this may be YOU someday, and I have been there myself, tho embarrassed to say.

To be blessed, as I have, to view the twinkle in a poor child's eyes come Christmas morn ~
When he discovers a long-abandoned toy with which to play, or a blanket to keep him warm.
Meant MORE to me and fore'er changed my ministry, as well as my moralistic philosophy ~
Knowing that, somehow, the Lord would forgive me for my past heathenry and debauchery.

Ah, what I have spurned from my previous haughty mind by these compassionate measures ~
Is the true meaning of Christmas and loving man, which shall remain my fore'er endeavor.
O, cast away your guilty pleasures, for they mean NOTHING compared to God's treasures!
And we chose to not live lavishly on prestigious Killarney Way, tho we truly could afford to ~
For by living simplistically, this has spawned generosity; I know it will do the same for you.

I have been wealthy and poor, and now I am not poor anymore; but before when I was rich ~
As a child, I grew up materialistic and selfish; someone to reckon with, such an evil witch.
However, now that I have dollars to spare, with the poor and destitute Steve and I do share ~
For it was because of surrendering ALL over to Jesus, I got myself out of my financial mess.

And sometimes it takes the cost of tremendous pain, for one to turn to God for spiritual gain ~
Now the
Holy Spirit works through me to assist to those in need; I pity those who reek of greed.
My poetry IS my spiritual sanctuary, for when I write from the heart I feel such solace inside ~
Because I know that God works through me in this mode, from which I acquire joy and pride.

As I relax in my library, with Topaz in my lap, tho I have a new office to which I shall roam ~
I shall cherish my memories of what I have penned here for you, crew are my TRUE home.
Like they say, "Home is where the heart is", and my heart will remain with you fine folks here
For this is the FINAL Christmas I shall be near, to celebrate Yuletide with my comrades dear.

For over six years, I have made dubious efforts to bring to my cyber peers holiday cheer ~
All I ask is that when I leave the Florida coast, you might pay a toast to Cyber Donna's ghost.
And there is a possibility I may not be sitting at my silver cyber box 'round this time next year ~
However, know in my heart you remain special and dear, and for you I shall ALWAYS be here.

In this lulling library cyber haven of mine, exist wealth of memories you could never imagine ~
They may fade with the gray sands of time, but I shall always write with fervor and passion.
I have a poetry book in the works, too, which is why I have not uploaded my poetic website ~
For which ALL royalties will go towards several charities; for me this is pure spiritual delight.

'Tis a challenge for me to quill much in a brief time, so with writing poems I now forge ahead ~
For in no time, shall be published my book of rhyme, so that poor folks can buy a loaf of bread.
On the contrary, I am not doing this for fame or profit; honestly, I could care less about that.
What I employ brings joy to know that a poor boy could get a new toy, or an old man don a hat.

Steve believes it is a good idea for me to write a book and donate royalties to the poor ~
While Jesus blesses me with might, so I can still write, this mercenary mission I shant ignore!
I am lulled towards slumber at night, I compose prose in my dreams with little flaw or mistake ~
And immediately after I awake, outcome of these dreams is poetic promise that I daily make.

My web hosting company has become a true blessing in disguise for me, Heaven knows ~
For one of their staff's fathers is a book publisher, who has a vested interest in my prose.
Tho previous year my publication remained idle, I know I have conjured an awesome book title
Now that has been done, I shall engage in fun, for I am up to 398 poems, who would believe?

When I attain my 400 poem mark relatively soon, I shall submit my final works for publication
Wherein the greater percentage of which I pay tribute to you, for you are my humble dedication.
Know that I have quilled of my personal trials and tribulations, which you have not yet viewed ~
While I leave mystery so that, hopefully, you will buy my book, or read of it in literary news.

Eventually, spirits of Tallahassee Christmas carolers will vanish into my mulled memories past
When we reminisce 'pon our tender Christmas dreams here, which in our minds will fore'er last.
A year from now, when Donna Frau hears pealing of church bells and savors Christmas smells
Indeed, my heart will inevitably swell, longing to be near you, crew, whom I came to know well.

Tho this prose and rhetoric I impart, know that I spawn it from the depth of my soul and heart
My message to you is simple and clear:  God bless a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Remembering when you hear the joyous Yuletide choirs and the chimes peal on Christmas day
Realize that angels on high are ere nigh and glorifying God, while we attend church and pray.

You ask, "Honestly Donna, how can we be together again next year during this loving season?"
Well, we should look for the Star of Bethlehem, friends, for Jesus' birth is the foremost reason.
And, if you just happen to gaze towards an indigo, star-studded sky come next Christmas Eve ~
Pray for Steve and me, as we will for you, crew; in our hearts and minds you will ne'er leave.

May your circle of souls be touched by wonderment at pavé of precious treasures to be found ~
As you celebrate and venerate joyous Christmastide, and its burgeoning beauty that abounds!
Recalling permanent friendships are never measured by treasures exchanged from the start ~
For their worth shines like the Star of Bethlehem, through demonstrating purity of one's heart.

May you and yours receive the Lord's holiest blessings during this sanctified season of Advent ~
Recognizing your gift to God and Fellow Man is your OWN compassion and grace Heaven-sent.

As Celestine choirs of angels convene above, amity of family is acknowledged through love ~
So be those 'mongst the brethren of mankind,
who unselfishly give all of themselves to others
Shall, indeed, be rewarded by our Heavenly Father, for extended kindness towards his brothers.

Throughout this glorious Yuletide season, while we celebrate through merriment and mirth ~
Let us all contemplate Christmas'true meaning ~ the commemoration of Christ's birth.
Hitherto comes our reckoning day of eternal good will towards men and peace on Earth ~
Tis then, through Divine Intervention, when humanity will honor and realize his own worth.
