A GRASP AT ETERNITY®
Original contemplative and spiritual poetry by Donna J. Fennel.
Quilled on Independence Day 2004 from my distant galactic shore.
Revisions applied with pride for you on September 25, 2006.
Mind calmly clouded and shrouded with ancient memories ~
Oh yes, know ere so well I have journeyed this course before
With precise certainty that defies every iota of human logic ~
Connected conversely to the present, from my days of yore.
Life’s lilting lullaby awakens my emotions long repressed ~
Cleansed by cosmos recycling, while simultaneously in repose.
Amazingly, only this moment do I long to return and regress ~
Towards decadent days that were meant to end and be closed.
Know that the blueprint for every lifetime yields lessons to learn ~
To live, love and laugh everlasting, erstwhile longing so to grow
For another chance at life, the brethren of mankind does yearn ~
Erstwhile whispering winds of change turn, souls we must tow.
Man is so dazed by a deluge of decadent dreams and schemes ~
Portrayed through his powerful, prolific prose, poetry and song.
Ah, man eventually returns wherefrom he was born and gleaned ~
For here man learned right from wrong, yet he is destined to go on.
Oft man witnesses mistress moon, suffused in opalescent light ~
Contemplating not beyond its lustrous, lulling, luminous glow
Yet captivated and captured by an embracing, nebulous night ~
Dipped in dark, much so like life, both inevitably come and go.
Behold, in the fathomless stratum of quantum time and space ~
Galaxies glitter and glimmer much so like random, stratus streaks
Upon man’s genealogy of genius, a sacred place of divine grace ~
Erstwhile enlightenment is found in hallowed Himalayan peaks.
Alas, mind encourages me to think of a treasure trove of things ~
When darkness does this summertime Celestine evening song bring.
As shivers shimmy sinuously up and down my spine, so sublime ~
To believe one man may have, indeed, lived in more than one time.
O, kindly explain to me, Higher Power, if You would somehow ~
Why I honestly believe I have been here and near, then and now?
To connect once again with my ancestors and comrades of old ~
From my merry days that were, revealing their tavern tales untold.
Knowing every soul searches for solace midst this earthly dominion ~
Alas, it appears there are those despondent destined to forever roam.
May they realize that their Higher Self is here, and welcome its opinion ~
Fearing not the Sire Death, for this transition is man’s trek back home.
Between the echelon of earth and netherworld, heaven one makes ~
'Midst a cosmic chorus of constellations, Pi chords draw our soul near.
Where mortal mind is captured and enraptured by space song quake ~
Resonating a man’s name within frailest of frame, its melody clear.
Time matters not, for man must know he can always connect the stars ~
And his bravest heart imparts that he may one day chart their course.
With precipitous pen I quill once again, feeling their fiery charge ~
Through their commanding foray I convey life with such poetic force.
As the Age of Aquarius emerges soon, witness the starlight infinity ~
Forging light lasering through a colossal cavern of cosmic chambers.
Revealing Neolithic nebulae akin to kaleidoscopic prisms of divinity ~
Whose outcome harbors a unity of humanity, to make his world tamer.
For these very stars exist in man’s eyes, which comes as no surprise ~
Likewise, his dominion engulfs beams in the form of prosaic schemes.
Tho they do lack true hue, within their radiant realm hear their sighs ~
While they wistfully whisper ye is one with life, and life is one with thee.

"During the wake of early morn is when I gleefully find ~
Poetic treasures without measure in the corners of my mind.
While all lay still and refreshed is when the Lord's breath ~
Comes to life in persuasion for me to quill my next creation."
~ Donna J. Fennel - March 3, 2006 ~
"I am reminded that man, once and always, is a traveler of this infinite cosmic lair ~
Leaning back in my chair I sense my smile, because I know I had come from there.
From spheres and shapes embracing a cosmic quake of solar system beyond compare ~
Betwixt and between this rising star-studded scene, my cosmic self becomes aware."
