BIDDING ADIEU TO MY DEAR CYBER CREW®
Original, heartfelt poetry by Donna J. Fennel.
Authored on this 17th day of April, 2004.
Revised for your surprise on April 27, 2006.

Ah, this misty morn I shall remember well ~
For comes the hour I must hail my tale to tell.
Tho I quill and instill my rhetorical allegory ~
My hope was I inspired you with my life story.

Half my life vanishes into the abyss of my past ~
Now arriving the hour I long for a distant shore
Where I can pour out my heart and soul, at last ~
To those yet to savor my prose, yearning for more.

Traveling into the Light every day, came what may ~
With quill of my quiver, I delivered with serious intent
Study on life well spent, whose honor was well meant ~
Hoping between my lines, your conscience would relent.

For I have labored to cross these depths, you see ~
To reach those bonny shores of your mind’s vessel.
Lending cheer, tears and life’s myriad of mystery ~
Through my cyber dominion and rhetorical temple.

Be there times when I believed I had found my course
Jettying upon my sea of soliloquies, in search of shore ~
Beckoning silvered sands whereupon I could lay hands
Of my love, to reach out to you with my folklore of yore.

For this realm has been my cyber home for many years ~
Where I sought to sanction you with laughter and tears.
Tho occasionally, my ship did cruise with stormy news ~
By God’s grace, I had hoped to inspire you with my views.

Alas, in all my weariness upon these waves, I found strength ~
Within to create a safe harbor of grace in prose, at great length.
'Midst the dangerous dunes and tides, from inside humble pride ~
To quill prose again, which I believed for many years had died.

Tho my ship has been docked for years, 'tis time to sail again ~
My writings soon come to end, as I bid farewell to cyber friends.
For beyond these shores, awaits another audience in Arkansas ~
Who will keep me busy with world affairs, instead of quilling paw.

Ah, to turn away from these beckoning waves this poetess weeps ~
Time’s merciless cast destines me to write amongst fawn and sheep.
These cyber days in my library, know that I shall forever cherish ~
In life we must forever journey toward new shores, lest we perish.

I sojourn towards my new home; this vagabond’s meant to roam ~
Tho our cyber trail grows fainter, yet somehow remains the same.
Arrives the hour when, sadly, our minds inevitably comprehend ~
We just were not meant to return on the path from which we came.

We realize that our future is unsure, yet our past is set in stone ~
Know the present we should revere in, despite life’s erratic tone.
And we are not meant to know all, for much is still unknown ~
We are more than merely a pawn in time to call fate as our own.

The spring clouds reveal a caveat of shrouds encasing dying stars ~
Where our ubiquitous universe reigns, tho cursed by our own fate.
Their blithe breath whispers, beyond man’s mortal comprehension ~
Life for us appears to be a vanishing point without true dimension.

Fate cries as my moment arrives that excites, as my passion ignites ~
The hush that falls upon my cyber audience; the tingling of the skin.
While my cyber curtain descends, as destiny’s director dims lights ~
This chapter sadly comes to end, and my new role is ready to begin.

Indeed, sojourners are we all, revering our historic cyber era dear ~
I shall remember you, dear cyber crew, fondly over passing years.
I am so moved to honor all who have been our precious past here ~
Yet Fate beckons me now to say farewell, as I wipe away my tears.

Tho I have passed full circle in this realm, know a circle has NO end.
Pray you read my new poetry book one day, so my legacy will stay.
Heed my verse, especially for world peace, so that our wars will cease.
I shall donate proceeds to the poor, so they will not hunger anymore.

Alas, ‘tis hour to set sail again, as Arkansas horizon awaits yonder ~
Know this time has been treasured, friends, yet my poetry now ends.
Occasionally I will send a reprise or two, or perhaps something new ~
Yet not for awhile as I exit with style, and in my heart you grow fonder.

The most painful part of saying goodbye is my realization of tomorrow.
For tho from Jesus His verse I borrow, this may cease soon with sorrow.
Hopefully, my audience will heed my message promulgating world peace.
Know that His wonders will never cease, and in my heart you I shall keep.

Feed now I should my hungry fires burning gaily in this flagstone hearth ~
But before I go, please know what sharing my words with you has meant.
My gentle verse of rescue I impart, hoping your time here was well spent ~
With prayers that my lair of care will inspire you to make amends and share.

I now say adieu, 'tis just as well.  For you, dear crew, this is my farewell.
My dream was that for you I have made now my mark in time with rhyme.
Ah, we shall one day pass this way again, dear cyber family and friends ~
For in my realm of poetic pretend, our precious circle truly has NO end.
