OUR COUNTRY ROAD WITHOUT END® Original, heartfelt poetry commemorating five blissful years of wedded matrimony for Steve and me as of December 18, 2004. Revised on August 25, 2006 especially for thee, my husband of heavenly Harmony, while we travel our country road as one ever after happily.
Darling, walk with me down our country road ~
While I carry your tender life’s anchored load
As you give me your heart and precious soul ~
That I shall lovingly nurture and coddle to grow.
I long to awaken to the pounding of life’s waves ~
Welcoming the ebbs and tides of God’s new days
While treasuring the portraiture of your face ~
Of grace, as I employ joy and wipe tears away.
Now when you are lonely, you are never alone ~
I am here in body and soul on our country road.
And know that it’s going to take a twinkle in time ~
For this journey to unwind our destinies foretold.
O, my love, make it to the other side of this day ~
Realizing when night falls, you will not be alone.
When we stroll the comfort of our country road ~
Do not miss those gleaming jewels along the way.
Darling Steve, all roads leading us here today ~
My gentle dove full of love, you’ve paid your dues.
O, you know what in life you are destined to do ~
Realize all that is yours, and you will never lose!
Tho roads lying ahead might unwind and shine ~
‘Neath a promising pavé of azure skyline divine.
With broken wings, we must both continue to fly ~
O’er life’s tempestuous tides, while we learn to cry.
Do not miss out on opportunities along life’s way ~
For the pathway to Harmony that led us here today.
Has afforded God’s decadence of dawn’s early light ~
Dusting our darkness away, towards ALL that is right.
I pray you not miss journey’s jewels along the way ~
As you travel the country road leading us here today.
Walk with me now, dear Steve, on our country road ~
While we two view day anew becoming God’s gold.
Dearheart, during our journey through time, may we find
That our comfort of country road will reveal of a kind ~
A gleaming grove and trove of treasure without measure
Time and again, as we embrace life’s wondrous pleasures.
O, learn to capture your dreams as we walk on this day ~
Down labyrinth of life leading us towards Harmony today.
Life is destined to happen, while we two prepare plans ~
All that you need is available through the Lord’s hands.
Dawn break of today proclaims our matrimonial stay ~
I pray we two, in marriage new, find jewels along the way.
As our lives segue together, wedded lovebirds of a feather ~
Knowing our country road is blessed path without measure.
And tho we know this country road has an inevitable end ~
May God ensure our hearts stay pure, as lovers and friends.
Lo, if the Lord one day decides to welcome you before me ~
Into His Trinity, I shall join you eventually, setting us free.
