Preserving faith and giving grace will get us through. Donna J. Fennel
MY NEW YEAR’S DREAM FOR 2007® Original, heartfelt poetry for humanity by Donna J. Fennel.
Quilled during the winter season on November 5, 2006,
praying that another year our fragile world will survive.
O, if only into the fathoms of fading days one could return ~
While calendar hints a yawning year disappears from glimpse.
Do appreciate and venerate, while into heart hope penetrates ~
Missions one collects and protects, as season circles final turn.
My heartfelt wishes linger here, for year of serenity and cheer ~
Lo, my dream be that he of his wealth not take this for granted
While those far less fortunate hunger in hovel, empty-handed ~
For ‘midst depths of one’s disparity, may the other offer charity.
Ah, ghost of Christmas dream scene, phantoms are the gay feasts ~
While days are dolefully decreased, accompanied by aging wreaths.
Glorious season of renewal, when God graces bright and beautiful ~
Yet most precious jewel, as we know, be what hearts could bestow.
Bear witness now, while spirit of Christmas is merrily alive and well ~
As church chimes peal, may we welcome God’s appeal for us to kneel
Offering those of meager ration, genteel generosity and compassion ~
Bidding adieu to celebrations, for His beckoning Spirit of affirmation.
O, love so easily understands, whence one recognizes smallest part ~
That all treasures are not measured by what is received in the hands.
Instead, we of nonesuch poverty break bread, obeying His command ~
‘Cross our own and foreign lands, may Christmas thrive in every heart.
Hearken highways and byways, everyplace carolers convene and sing ~
Do not forget to kneel, when church bells peal, for joys it doth bring!
Tho future days may bring pain, believe in Jesus and all prayer gains ~
For what good we seek after will, indeed, be script in His final chapter.
Tho carols are crooned by yonder spinet, may we now borrow minute ~
Of time, from family amity sublime, to reach out towards all of those
Poor folks down the road, who carry heavy load of angst and despair ~
Whilst from easy chair, his bless’d gesture be to offer his love and care.
Lo, no man will destroy happiness and joy to me Christmas hour supplies ~
Indeed I hunger and need for Divine Creed governing this rapturous realm.
Treasure trove ‘mongst garland grove, as angels cry while winter tide flies ~
Star of Bethlehem in constellation formation, as He gently steers His helm.
For a man devoid of care and generosity is replete with hatred and atrocity ~
Ensuring his days will become numbered, while Satan arises from his slumber.
May those of wealth and good health share with they who are without same ~
So all wars shall cease, and we witness peace, in waking world sane and tame.
Lo and behold, as old year weeps, sacred in one’s heart all men should keep ~
Passing year as it withers to a wrinkle in time, as tho somehow banished away
Replaced hitherto by New Year true, fresh era in stride, exemplify one’s pride ~
By each learning to share and care, offering grace to God on New Year’s Day.
O, tho ivy dress’d for our honored guests be ‘mongst every room and post ~
My prayer for you, during New Year true, is each be bless’d by Holy Ghost.
And whence those forgotten yesteryear toasts and crumpled Christmas bows ~
Fade into twinkles of time, my dream is we are one team in a world ere kind.
May gladness of Christmastide linger in the air, the breath of God everywhere ~
Whispering, to each and everyone, to revere in the birth of His Savior Son.
So that perhaps TRUE war to be won is that humankind may someday find ~
He be bless’d enough with His saving grace to make our world a better place.
And now, with quill at my calm breast, I wish you and yours a New Year best ~
Praying each and everyone is bless’d with guests, and for those of you so alone
Know in my spirit and heart you remain in my home, and holy chamber of He ~
Who loves you and yours eternally, hoping nothing but peace and joy for thee.
My New Year’s gift especially for you and the entire promising new year through ~
Peace, prayers, cares, hope, wellness, hope, happiness, world peace and prosperity
and, especially, every blessing from your comrade, Donna ~ for year 2006 and beyond.
"Strum a calming chord into the hearts of many ~
From the One’s loving lyre that is Heaven-spun.
For the asking price is not an ounce or a penny ~
To offer mercy aplenty for world peace to be won."
