Someday you may pay a toast to my cyber ghost ... Cyber Donna

CYBER DONNA’S OPENING FAREWELL®

Original, introspective poetry by Donna J. Fennel.
This is my premiere farewell poem to my E-mail crew.
Quilled on the 25th day of April, 2003 ~ Just for thee.
Revised for your surprise, guys, on November 7, 2006.

When Cyber Donna finally leaves the hallowed Internet realm ~
Know I shall fondly remember my cyber family and friends dear.
My clever cyber mark I now brandish with these nimble fingers ~
As in time, memories linger that Cyber Donna once resided here.
Heed my warning:  I shall return to “haunt” you, year after year ~
To lend you fine folks good cheer and spill a random poetic tear.

Comes soon when my poetic cyber craft I shall cast forever behind.
By rook or by crook, recollect this cozy nook as my cyber book.
My hope is that you found me to be your merry, gracious host ~
For here I fear I had cast upon you my literary spell too well(?)
As your mind leapt o’er my captain’s helm in this allegorical realm ~
Which to your eyes and surprise, now becomes Cyber Donna’s ghost.

In this wandering world of “worddom”, my cyber friends and family ~
Here you have come to know my titillating rhetorical liturgy and me ~
Which entertains and contains brains, including my “Fun Emporium” ~
For I DO enjoy an audience, and take greatest pleasure in boring them.
O, time escapes us quickly, cyber community.  I shall miss you the most.
Access my website, quiver with delight, and pay “homage” to my ghost.

For my innermost thoughts and dreams reside in the mystic nebula here ~
As they describe my “joie de vivre” for life, while revealing tears and fears.
Here I have committed several years, erstwhile feeding you cheers and jeers.
Like grains of sand this, too, shall eventually become my cyber wasteland.
Just know my cyber pisans in Donnadreamland, I am at your command.
For Donnadreamland is a mindful fantasy, much more than a cyber stand.

Heaven knows, my prose has been my solace and release for years missed.
Harboring my soul in darkest hour it emits power, fostering peace and bliss.
Yet someday soon, like all good and in tune, it will inevitably cease to exist.
My writing has honestly depicted my life while earnestly revealing what I feel ~
It fuels my passion to employ poetic joy via this cyber toy with fervor and zeal.
Although, please know that my prose to aid man is a hopeful career that I chose.

O, cyber chums, you have listened to my “hums”, read my “dumbs” and poems ~
I have learned through time that tugging at your heartstrings is a dubious art.
While viewing background constellations, appreciate my perceptive observations
Of all that is. And take with a grain of salt my notorious “farts-from-the-heart”.
(Of which gastritis is an integral part.)  There are NO laws governing poetic art.
Tho poetic magic I pleasurably impart, for me destiny maps out a new astro chart.

As I embroider my magic unveiling life comic and tragic, while love lurks within ~
Like the eternal ebbs and tides in the corners of our minds, we remain cyber kin.
Through the ages, embedded in my poetic pages is more than bytes and macros ~
This silver box contains my precious lot of cyber family.  Here, memories grow.
Nestled in the corners of my heart and mind remain cyber friends ever so kind.
Nowadays, friends are hard to find.  May someday our minds entwine (ho, ho).

Comes soon the hour of power, when I shall leave this hallowed Fennel library ~
For our family to boldly venture towards our northern territory and sanctuary.
Hopefully though, our next cyber rendezvous will not be in the Internet cemetery ~
Meanwhile, partake in my usual Cyber Donna style; let’s have fun and make merry!
For within the hourglass does time pass, when I exit stage left and close the doors ~
Of Donnadreamland, to pursue that equally grand; for more of life I must explore.

Do not grieve, for when I leave, these cyber mesmerings and music to you I bequeath.
I shall return to “haunt” you now and then for our cyber circle, indeed, has no end.
My cyber quota is now nearing its peak; I will be leaving Tallahassee in four weeks.
And I assure you six months from now, you will not be hearing from “Donna Frau”.
Steve and I have much to prepare when we arrive there.  I resign from my cyber chair.
Just come next year, I ask you pay a toast to your merry muse, Cyber Donna’s ghost.

Tho we must change course to fulfill our destiny, let us cherish our cyber family.
Lo!  You have read my tales of woe.  Tho I am no “Poe”, I put on a decent show.
I shall return soon to entertain.  This intends to explain why my poetry will wane.
Yet be assured for a few more weeks, I shall quill more poetic muse and “cyber speak”.
Alas, once those weeks have gone, it will not be long before I perform my swan song.
Sweet dreams and brilliant schemes, friends.  Enjoy a wonderful day ... hey, hey.

May you recognize this as my cyber lullaby, complete with my indigo sky.  Bye, bye.
One day we may be knockin' on Heaven’s door.  Let's band together man, while world peace options we explore ...
