While you watch in breathless wonder and overcome pain and strife.

Witness this Tree of Life, yet never banquet 'pon its blessed fruit ~
For the effect is suffering, so seek the cause and selfishness uproot.
Tempted from the Tree of Life by the Good Lord's own reflection ~
High and low the phantoms come and go, seeking elusive perfection.
Lo, superficial pleasures of finite world were never made to last ~
They ebb and flow, they come and go, as joy's sorrows linger past.
Thus we bear the Cross upon our backs and go our separate ways ~
Some from the Lord, some to the Lord; still in man’s heart He stays.
The Lord gave birth, through Mother Earth, this precious Tree of Life ~
From which we gain, despite mortal pain, His love as outcome of strife.
For this lush live oak offers us hope, though a bough or two may break ~
Its magic and strength ye shall not forsake, for it beckons us in its wake.
So take a tad o' foliage that blooms from boughs on this emerald vine ~
Tho it be wet and dry, allow not it to wither and die, because ye cares.
Round these mighty limbs to climb, ye may also find these serpentine ~
Branches yield a bounty of hope from fruit the majestic live oak bears.
Yet be warned to not let go, so that it may block the pain that ever flows ~
In the hearts of man in this suffering land, as the Tree of Life must flourish.
For one day thee may be in need of the love and mercy its spirit embraces ~
May it thrive with God’s graces as viewed in the multitude of happy faces.
Balmed by peace the live oak is tranquil, gracefully swaying in the breeze ~
As its scent rejuvenates the spirit of men, bringing them humbly to their knees.
For the Tree of Life is everlasting in its sustenance, surviving fierce tempests ~
And perennial, while it witnesses the rest of nature drawing its last breath.
The Tree of Life reigns as woodland king, while saplings it doth shrouds ~
In its majestic velvet cloak of hope, as it stands evermore tall and proud.
And when it weeps, sap oozes from its trunk and trembling branches ~
Mankind cries with you for we, too, along life’s road have taken chances.
More constant than change, may the Tree of Life be everlasting and endure ~
While mankind seeks peace of mind, and his heart grows ere tender and pure.
May it flourish and be well nourished, while it bestows with hope to cope ~
And admired so, dear Sire, for you reign as forest emperor, noble live oak.
For this grand live oak, akin to some men, take pride in being who they are.
Know that it humbly sits upon hill like man’s good will, outshining a tinsel star.
Be this not a Tree of Pain, so let it reign, worship its limbs and may all rejoice ~
While the Tree of Life lives on eternally, be it through every heart and voice.
