From shamrocks to yummy ham hocks. Welcome to Arkansas, Donna.
OUR ST. PATRICK'S DAY BLESSING FOR YOU® Original, heartfelt holiday poetry by wee lassie Donna J. Fennel.
Quilled on this 12th day of March, 2004 ~ The Emerald Isle to explore.
Legend proclaims one need not search the whole world over ~
Akin to a fabled Irish rover, to locate their lucky four-leaf clover.
We pray your hearts doth overflow with noble St. Patrick’s spirit ~
And if you listen and cock your ear a tad, you may even hear it ...
As a harp croons celestine Celtic chords from fabled days of yore ~
While leprechauns and faeries narrate their tales of Irish folklore.
For the fables foretold in the mystical glens of enchanting Ireland ~
Reveal precious treasures with which to bless our family and friends.
Ah, the faerie tales spun by elvin fun disclose a proverb we are told ~
For those pure of heart, at the end of the rainbow awaits a pot o’ gold.
Celtic sprites carry out their rites, as their golden harps they strum ~
Merry muse meant not to confuse, portraying love to old and young.
>While a wee bit o’ Heaven descended from the azure skies that day ~
As it nestled 'pon balmy Baltic bay, in this Brigadoon ere far away.
There angels hovered and discovered a lair lookin’ so sweet and fair ~
And surmised they should not disturb, for it was e’er so peaceful there.
Sprinkling with stardust, they made shamrocks and shillelaghs grow ~
’Tis the only lavish land be found by man, for it is now Heaven’s grove.
Then they dotted it with silver sand to complement lakes ere grand ~
When they completed the Lord’s command, they dubbed it IRELAND.
Oh, the road to Killearn that we know of ‘tis now to ne’er be the same ~
For the hand of God has blessed it with love, and IRELAND is its name.
I suppose I ne’er imagined this Celtic realm would lead me to forever ~
And if we share it in our hearts, know that here we’ll always be together.
Feelin’ with your spirited hands this numinous, legendary patch o’ land ~
‘Tis a titillating tapestry woven by God, this hilly hamlet of heath and sod.
Ye must see with eye of your heart, while your hear with ear of your soul ~
Know with body of life’s knowledge, this Irish blessing to make you whole.
Thank the Lord for His wondrous gift, and the strength of His love be his ~
May sunbeams play upon your back, while you follow life’s tempestuous track.
And while in life you reap and sow, may your garden grow by your rainbow ~
Evermore, may a bounty of love, laughter and life overflow on your table ~
Comes now the destined hour we conclude our enchanting Irish fable ...
And while you make merry through amity with your precious family ~
We wish you a Happy St. Patrick’s Day in the Year of Our Lord 2003!
Now we bid you fine folks a fond adieu; however, before we leave ...
We extend to you Love and Prayers from our Family, Donna and Steve
"While spirits and hearts we mend through the compassion, empathy, love and respect we lend, know that His angels God will send."
