PRESCRIPTION FOR A HAPPY NEW YEAR^®

My final heartfelt note of hope for 2005 and beyond.

Ah, to abandon the old with a rhapsody of song ~
While recalling the right and forgiving the wrong.
We should forget world ties binding ever so fast ~
Vanquishing vain regrets of yawning year passed.

Now summon inner strength to release our hold ~
Of the net worth, outcome of decadent days old.
Yet may we dare go forth with a purpose ere true ~
Towards an unknown task of year, alive and new.

I pray you assist those brethren along the road ~
Taking over their load, along life’s rocky shoal.
Add now to a woeful world your gift of good cheer ~
As we all promulgate peace for a Happy New Year.

O, we need not embark upon this New Year alone ~
’Midst an obstacle echelon, everywhere we stand.
With no man offering to help find our way home ~
Accepting God’s outstretched hand and command.

May you realize not to ask Him to live life of ease ~
Or require worldly deeds, during our dawning days
Of New Year renaissance, for to change err in ways ~
Of sin fosters spiritual win, and to the Lord appease.

Tho we know not where new paths may lead ahead ~
Nor can we acknowledge how much they may wind
If we are kind and compassionate to mankind, instead ~
Throughout New Year, peace and grace we may find.

Pray for a year fostering a new start for the human race ~
For our world CAN and WILL become a far better place.
It is not too late to spread fellowship across woeful lands ~
Start by reaching out to your neighbor, and shaking hands.

Now if you follow this prescription, learning to love again ~
With pride hate you will override, being a guide for friends.
Ah, tho this is not an antidote, I am willing to cast my vote ~
With my inevitable valediction, this is the best prescription.

It takes only a dose or two of this regimen to get through ~
And if you administer it true, coupled with good will you do
Beginning this bless'd day, by giving grace to one poor soul ~
To make him whole, indeed, God WILL bless your deed anew.

I shall now leave this up to you, what you may decide to do ~
Yet realize it comes as no surprise that once you are through
Offering generosity, not animosity, to your brother without ~
Our mission of world peace and love WILL win out, no doubt.

May your New Year be blessed with everything best, my friend.
Peace, joy, respect, compassion, charity, empathy and love employ.
Accept this gift from me to help overcome the obstacles in time ~
While the angel beside you helps you make that courageous climb.
